The Villager Bus – serving the North Bedfordshire Villages.

Public transport throughout the North Beds villages is sparse and where it does exist it does not deliver the personal services we do.  Helping passengers on and off the bus, taking them precisely to their destination, ensuring they get on the bus coming back and then dropping them at home.  This is the service the Villager Bus delivers.

We have had a busy past year raising funds to replace our old bus, fitting it out and training our drivers on the vehicle. The purchase of the new bus was made possible with the generous support of various sponsors and Parish Councils who gave money in addition to the money we had accrued over the years.

The new, more reliable bus can take up to 16 passengers including space for one wheelchair user. It has a low floor for easy access and a wheelchair ramp, as well as air conditioning, WiFi and phone charging points.

The Villager is a volunteer run and managed organisation. If you know of anyone who like to volunteer as a driver or help with other aspects of our work we would be pleased to hear from them.

Our services are well used by residents of the North Beds and surrounding villages. Our average monthly passengers for the last year was over 200 single trips per month on all our services. Many of our passengers use the Villager as an opportunity to have a trip out. Popular are the services to Rushden Lakes and St Ives. The bus is also available for community hires such as trips to Open Gardens or other places of interest.

Further information on our services including timetables can be found on our website www.villagerbus.uk or by phoning 07438 870658. We look forward to seeing you!
